What is spectral map?

A spectral map is a diagram that shows the relationship between the spectrum of a particular signal or system and some variable, such as frequency or time. It is often used in signal processing and communication engineering to analyze and design filters, equalizers, and other systems that modify or extract information from signals. Spectral maps can be displayed in a variety of formats, including two-dimensional plots, contour maps, and 3D surfaces, and they can be used to visualize a wide range of phenomena, such as signal distortion, noise cancellation, and multipath interference. Some common types of spectral maps include power spectral density (PSD) maps, frequency response maps, and spectrograms.
